Salary & Pay Scale Details
Assistant Professor (Contractual): Monthly remuneration equivalent to the minimum monthly gross salary (Basic Pay + Dearness Allowance) payable to a regularly appointed Assistant Professor at the entry level in Bihar State Universities.
Approximate Monthly Salary: ₹70,000/- to ₹75,000/- per month (based on the current entry-level Assistant Professor pay under the 7th Pay Commission, including applicable DA). This is an indicative figure; the notification itself specifies parity with the minimum gross salary rather than a fixed amount.
Additional Benefits: Since the appointment is purely contractual, regular government service benefits such as pension, promotion, gratuity, and leave encashment are not admissible unless specifically provided under the contract.
Job Security: Contractual appointment for one academic year, extendable based on performance and Government/University requirements.
Career Growth: Contract may be renewed based on satisfactory performance and institutional requirements. The notification does not provide a regular promotion channel for these contractual appointments.
