Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed premier Miniratna Schedule ‘A’ Company of the Government of India, has released the official notification (No. CSL/P&A/HRM/HRM GENERAL/PM_INTERNSHIP_SCHEME/2024/45, dated 26th August 2026) inviting online applications from eligible candidates for a Nine (9) month Internship Training under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS).
Under this internship drive, CSL aims to engage 227 interns across ITI trades, SSLC-level disciplines, HSE/ITI disciplines, Diploma, Graduation, and Post Graduation categories. Interested candidates can apply online through the PMIS Portal, pminternship.mca.gov.in/login.

Age Limit
The age limit for CSL PMIS 2026 is between 18 and 25 years.
Ineligibility Criteria
The following categories of candidates are NOT eligible to apply under this scheme:
Graduates/Postgraduates from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, IIITs, and IISc.
Those holding qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MBA (or equivalent), MPhil, and PhD.
Those currently undergoing any skill, apprenticeship, internship, or training program under a Central or State Government scheme.
Those who have already completed apprenticeship/training under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) at any point.
Candidates whose family income exceeds ₹12 lakh in the preceding financial year as on the date of application.
Candidates having a family member who is a permanent/regular government employee.

CSL PMIS 2026 Selection Process
Selection of candidates for CSL PMIS 2026 will be based on the following process:
Shortlisting – Based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective trade/discipline. In case of a tie, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in age.
Offer of Internship – Shortlisted candidates will be issued an offer of Internship Training through the PMIS portal and will need to appear for certificate verification as per the date mentioned in the offer letter.
Certificate Verification – Candidates must produce original certificates as proof of age, qualification, caste, disability (if any), etc., along with self-attested copies.
Provisional Induction – On successful certificate verification, candidates will be provisionally inducted for internship training, subject to medical fitness.

Selected interns will undergo a 9-month internship training at Cochin Shipyard Limited and will receive a monthly stipend, inclusive of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by the Government of India.

No Travel/Boarding Allowance – No travel expenses are admissible for attending certificate verification or during the internship period, and boarding/lodging will not be provided by CSL.
