The examination fee paid shall be refunded only to those candidates who actually appear in the Preliminary Examination. Applications submitted without payment of the fee (except SC/ST/PwD candidates) will be treated as incomplete and rejected outright.

OPSC AEE Selection Process 2026

The selection of candidates will be done based on performance in multiple stages of a competitive examination. After the Preliminary Examination, shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Main Examination, followed by the Interview/Personality Test.

• Main Examination (500 marks – Paper I: General Studies, Paper II: Civil Engineering)
• Interview/Personality Test (50 marks)

The marks scored in the Preliminary Examination are not counted for the final merit list; only the Main Examination and Interview marks (out of 550) are considered for preparing the Select List.

OPSC AEE Exam Pattern 2026

Negative marking of 25% of the marks allotted to a question applies for every incorrect answer in both the Preliminary and Main Examinations. No marks are awarded or deducted for unattempted questions.

OPSC AEE Salary 2026

The selected Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) will be placed in Level-12 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 – Rs. 39,100) with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400, along with usual dearness allowance and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.
