Age Limit & Selection Process

• Professor: 35 to 55 years as on 01/07/2026.
• Assistant Professor: 26 to 40 years as on 01/07/2026.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for eligible SC/ST/OBC candidates and UP Government employees; 15 years for eligible PwD candidates. Other relaxations apply as per UP Government rules.
• Selection Process: Screening Examination → Interview → Final Selection.

Vacancy Details – Total Vacancies – 1156

• Relevant postgraduate medical qualification such as M.D./M.S./DNB or the prescribed equivalent qualification in the concerned speciality.
• Required teaching/clinical experience, such as Senior Resident experience, varies according to the speciality.
• Additional requirements such as Biomedical Research course/publications may apply to specific posts.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Assistant Professor: Pay Level-11 – ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700/- (7th Pay Commission)
• Professor: Pay Level-14 – ₹1,44,200 to ₹2,18,200/- (7th Pay Commission)
• Additional Benefits: DA, HRA, Medical, Travel Allowance and other benefits as applicable under Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

Exam Pattern

• Selection Process: Screening Examination → Interview → Final Selection.
• Screening Examination: Objective-type examination conducted by UPPSC to shortlist candidates for the interview.
• Negative Marking: 1/3 of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Standard: 40% for General/other categories and 35% for SC/ST candidates.
• Interview: Candidates qualifying the screening examination will be called for interview as per the Commission's prescribed standard.
• Final Merit: 75% weightage of Screening Examination marks + 25% weightage of Interview marks.
