Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and Maximum 24 years (as on 07.07.2026) with relaxation as per rules for reserved categories
• Selection Process: Merit based on 10th class marks followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination

Total Apprentice Post – 1853

• 10th Pass with 50% marks and ITI in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT
• Duration: 1 year apprenticeship training
• Certification: NCVT/SCVT recognized

Stipend & Benefits Details

• Training Period: 1 Year Apprenticeship Training.
• Stipend: Paid as per the prescribed rates under the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprenticeship Rules, and Railway Board instructions applicable from time to time. The official notification does not specify a fixed monthly amount.
• Certification: Apprentices who successfully complete the training and pass the NCVT proficiency test will receive the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) Certificate.
• Employment: Completion of apprenticeship training does not guarantee regular employment in Indian Railways.
• Other Benefits: Training in designated trades under North Central Railway with practical industrial experience as per Railway Board guidelines.
