Essential Qualification
(i) a post graduate degree in Business Administration or Science or Commerce or Engineering or post graduate diploma in Port Management or Port and Shipping Management of any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; (ii) (i) have at least 2 years experience on the post not below the rank of Head Clerk in the Gujarat maritime Board, or (ii) have atleast 2 years experience of administration and/or Accounts in Government or local bodies or Government under taking board or corporation or university or limited company established under the companies Act, 2013 on the post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Head Clerk in the Gujarat Maritime Board. (iv) The basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, and (iii) The adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
GPSC Assistant Port Officer Selection Process 2026
The selection will be based on Preliminary Test and Interview. The Preliminary test will consist of 100 questions of 100 marks of General Studies and 200 questions of 200 marks of the Respective Subject. Total 300 questions of 300 marks. Total Duration: 180 Minutes. The Weighted Marks of Preliminary Test & Interview are calculated as follows: [Marks obtained in P.T. X 50/300 = Weighted Marks of Preliminary Test] + [Marks obtained in Interview X 50/100 = Weighted Marks of Interview] = Total Weighted Marks.
