Indian Overseas Bank Security Guard Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection for the post of Security Guard will be based on a reservation-wise merit list, drawn from the marks obtained across the following three stages:
Online Objective Type Test (80 marks) – Comprising Knowledge of English Language (20 marks), Aptitude Test (20 marks), Arithmetic Test (20 marks), and Psychometric Test (20 marks).
Local Language Test (20 marks) – A separate test assessing knowledge of Tamil.
Physical Fitness Test (100 marks) – Comprising Push-Ups (30 marks, qualifying 20), Sit-Ups (30 marks, qualifying 20), One Kilometre Run (30 marks, qualifying 20), and Drill (10 marks, qualifying 5), with an overall qualifying score of 65 marks. Candidates must pass each of the four physical fitness sub-tests individually.
Pre-Examination Training – Free training will be arranged by the Bank at Chennai for SC/ST/Minority Community/Ex-Servicemen candidates who opt for it in the online application, though travel, boarding, and lodging expenses must be borne by the candidate.
Final selection will be made strictly according to the reservation-wise merit ranking based on marks obtained in the Online Test, Local Language Test, and Physical Fitness Test.
Indian Overseas Bank Security Guard Salary Structure 2026
Selected candidates for the post of Security Guard will be placed in the Subordinate Staff cadre, as per the 12th Bipartite Settlement, with basic pay fixed based on the candidate’s last drawn salary during defence service.
