UPSSSC FSL Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates who are willing to apply must make sure they fulfil the required educational qualification as per the Uttar Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory Non-Gazetted (Technical) Service Rules, 2016.

Scientific Assistant (General & Special Selection):

• Biology Domain: B.Sc. in Biology with Forensic Science, with specialization in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Genetic Science/Cell Biology/Microbiology, from a recognized university/institution.
• Physics Domain: B.Sc. in Physics with Forensic Science, with specialization in Nuclear Science/Instrumental Electronics, or B.Tech. in Instrumental Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
• Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. in Chemistry with Forensic Science, with specialization in Biochemistry.
• Computer Science Domain: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognized university/institution, or ‘A’ Level Diploma from NIELIT.

Desirable Qualifications: M.Sc. in the relevant subject (for Biology/Physics/Chemistry domain); higher qualification in Computer Science (for Computer Science domain); minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army; or NCC ‘B’ Certificate.

Lab Assistant (General & Special Selection):

Same four domain-wise qualifications as applicable for Scientific Assistant (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science domains, at Bachelor’s degree level), as prescribed under the Service Rules, 2016.

Desirable Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army, or NCC ‘B’ Certificate.

UPSSSC FSL Age Limit 2026

As per the Uttar Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory Non-Gazetted (Technical) Service Rules, 2016, candidates applying for both Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant posts must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have exceeded the age of 40 years as on 1st July of the calendar year in which the vacancies are advertised. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST and other notified categories as per Government of Uttar Pradesh norms.

Since candidates applying for this Main Examination have already cleared PET-2025, only the online processing fee is payable at this stage. The Main Examination fee (if applicable) will be paid separately by shortlisted candidates before downloading their Main Examination admit card.

Selection Process

Selection for the notified posts will be based on the following process, as per the Uttar Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory Non-Gazetted (Technical) Service Rules, 2016:

2. Shortlisting for the Main Examination will be done category-wise, based on 15 times the number of notified vacancies, using the normalized PET-2025 score (up to 2 decimal places), including all candidates holding the cut-off score.
