CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 : The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the official notification for CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 under Advertisement No. R&A/01/2026. The recruitment drive is being conducted for Technician (1) posts in various trades, with a total of 43 vacancies available across CSIR units.

CSIR Technician Vacancy Details and Qualification

The 43 vacancies are distributed among different technical trades. Candidates must possess the qualification prescribed for the particular trade they are applying for.

The notification also provides alternative eligibility routes for several trades through two years of full-time apprentice-trainee experience or three years of relevant work experience in specified Government/PSU/autonomous organizations, subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.

CSIR Technician Selection Process 2026

Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates who achieve the prescribed threshold in Paper-I. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III.

CSIR Technician Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination will be conducted in OMR-based or computer-based objective multiple-choice format. The standard of the examination is based on SSC + ITI / Class 12 level.

Total: 150 questions and 400 marks.

There is no negative marking in Paper-I, while Paper-II and Paper-III carry one negative mark for every incorrect answer.

CSIR Technician Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Matrix Level-2, with a basic pay scale of ₹19,900 to ₹63,200. In addition to basic pay, eligible employees can receive allowances such as HRA and travelling allowance at applicable Central Government/CSIR rates.

Other benefits mentioned in the notification include Leave Travel Concession, reimbursement of medical expenses and Children’s Education Allowance, subject to applicable CSIR rules.
