Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed premier Mini Ratna Schedule ‘A’ Company of the Government of India, has invited online applications from eligible Graduate and Diploma holders who are domicile of Kerala for engagement as Graduate/Technician (Diploma) Apprentices under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973. Candidates who passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply. CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Category-I: Graduate Apprentices

• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University or an Institution empowered by an Act of Parliament, in the relevant discipline.
• Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the State/Central Government as equivalent.
• Where CGPA/OGPA/CPI is awarded instead of percentage, the conversion criteria defined by the University/Institute shall apply; otherwise, the Aggregate Grade Points shall be multiplied by 10 to arrive at the percentage.

Category-II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

• Sl. No. 1–6 (Engineering disciplines): A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council/Board of Technical Education, a University, or an Institution recognized by the State/Central Government.
• Sl. No. 7 (Commercial Practice): A Diploma in Commercial Practice granted by a State/Central Government recognized Institution.
• Candidates with equivalent qualifications must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority; without this certificate, candidature will not be considered.

Domicile Requirement

Only candidates who are domicile of Kerala and who passed the qualifying examination during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Candidates must be above 18 years of age as on 01.09.2026.

Previous Training

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973, in any Government, Public Sector, or Private Organisation are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

Physical Standards

Minimum physical standards as prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and amendments thereof, shall apply.

Cochin Shipyard Limited Apprentice Selection Process 2026

1. Shortlisting: Only Kerala-domicile candidates will be considered. Shortlisting will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic qualifying examination for the respective discipline. In case of a tie, seniority in the year of passing will be the deciding factor; if that is also identical, the candidate senior in age (by date of birth) will be given precedence.
2. Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates must bring original certificates for age, qualification, percentage of marks, caste, and disability (if applicable), along with self-attested copies, for verification. Failure to produce original certificates will result in rejection of candidature.
3. Provisional Selection: Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification will be provisionally selected against the notified training seats in order of merit/reservation, subject to medical fitness.

Applications must be submitted through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal: nats.education.gov.in.

For candidates already registered on the old portal (portal.mhrdnats.gov.in):

1. Activate your account on https://nats.education.gov.in using the “forgot password” option.
2. Log in and complete the application form, ensuring all details are correct.
3. Search for “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
4. Click Apply — the status will show as “Applied.”

For candidates with no prior registration:

1. Go to https://nats.education.gov.in and click “Student.”
