The Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, has released an indicative advertisement for recruitment to the post of “Assistant” on a contractual basis in different Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under OUAT. Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements in terms of educational qualifications, age limit, and other conditions. The required criteria are as mentioned below.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. Candidates must specifically indicate the percentage of marks obtained (calculated to the nearest two decimals) in the relevant column of the application form, and must produce the certificate/document evidencing the university’s conversion formula, if called for document verification.
The candidate must also have passed Odia as one of the subjects up to the 7th Standard, and a certificate to this effect must be attached with the application.
Age Limit
Candidates’ maximum age should not exceed 30 years, with an additional age relaxation of 3 years as per COVID-19 guidelines — effectively making the upper age limit 33 years as on the last date of application. Further age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for ST/SC/SEBC/Women category candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disability, as per applicable rules. SEBC candidates must furnish a Non-Creamy Layer certificate for the current year.

Candidates are required to deposit a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) in favour of the Comptroller, OUAT, Bhubaneswar.

In-service candidates must apply through proper channel and submit an advance copy of the application, along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer within one month of the last date of application.

OUAT Assistant Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection for the post of Assistant is based on the Written Test only. Following the written examination, candidates shall have to undergo a Skill Test to evaluate their proficiency in computer applications and office automation tools; however, the skill test is qualifying in nature and carries no marks.
Stage 1: Written Test (150 marks)
Stage 2: Skill Test (Qualifying only, no marks) — candidates called at a 1:4 ratio from the merit list based on written test marks
The final merit panel shall be prepared considering the marks secured in the written test only, subject to qualifying the skill test.

OUAT Assistant 2026 Salary
The selected candidates will be engaged as Contractual Project Staff at Level-9, Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400/- (7th Pay Commission), or PB-2, Rs. 9,300 – 34,800/- plus Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200/- (pre-revised Pay Band and Grade Pay under 6th CPC), or as prescribed by the funding agency (ICAR) from time to time. The pay and pay scale are subject to change as notified/communicated by ICAR/funding agencies.
